From the above figure, it can be seen that the helical gear is misaligned and placed on the cylindrical gear, while the spur gear is not misaligned.
2. The supporting planets of planetary shelves are different
Diagonal teeth require dual support from the planetary carrier, while straight teeth can have both dual and single support
3. Different precision
The accuracy of helical gears is higher than that of spur gears. In terms of planetary gearbox structure, the planetary carrier of helical gears requires a double support structure to be able to support it, while the planetary carrier of spur gears can be single or double supported. However, in terms of accuracy, noise, and efficiency, the single support of spur gears is far inferior to the double support of spur gears. Compared with the helical planetary gearbox, the precision of the helical planetary gearbox is higher because the precision of the helical gear is higher than that of the straight gear.
4. The noise is different
The main disadvantage of spur gear planetary reducers is that they generate vibration. Due to design, manufacturing, or deformation reasons, some changes in the involute profile may occur along the entire tooth surface at the same time. This will result in a regular, once per tooth stimulation, which is often very strong. The resulting vibration causes both large loads on the gears and noise. So the noise of straight teeth is greater than that of helical teeth.
