Take the following steps to avoid planetary gearbox failure

Planetary reducers are connecting components between various devices, designed to reduce rotational speed, increase torque, and thus improve work efficiency. Working frequently in harsh environments can easily lead to problems, so how can we avoid the issue of planetary gearbox failure?

1. When working: When the oil temperature rises above 80 ° C or the oil pool temperature rises above 100 ° C, or when the planetary reducer produces abnormal noise, the work should be stopped immediately. After stopping the specified lubricating oil, the work can continue.
2. Oil change: Wait for the planetary gearbox to cool down before changing the oil, but do not wait until it has completely cooled down before changing the oil. When the oil temperature is constant, changing the oil becomes much easier. Once it slowly cools and solidifies, draining the oil becomes more complicated.
3. Operation: After 200-300 hours, a replacement should be carried out, and the quality of the oil should be regularly reported for future use. At the same time, impurities must be replaced or deteriorated in a timely manner. In general, in this case, the new oil should be replaced after running for 5000 hours or once a year, and the planetary gearbox should also replace the new oil before mixing. Reducing agents should be actively added to oil of the same grade as the original, and should not be mixed with oil of different grades, as the same viscosity is different.
4. Oil leakage: Equal pressure type: Oil leakage in planetary reducers is mainly caused by an increase in pressure inside the gearbox, so the reducer should be equipped with corresponding ventilation covers to achieve equal pressure. The ventilation hood should not be too small. A simpler inspection method is to open the ventilation hood, run the reducer continuously for five minutes, and touch the ventilation opening with your hand. If you feel a large pressure difference, it indicates that the natural ventilation hood is small and should be replaced with a larger or raised ventilation hood. Smooth flow: Make the spilled oil return to the inner wall of the oil tank as much as possible, and do not stay at the sealed position of the shaft head to prevent the oil from gradually seeping out from the shaft head. If there is an oil seal ring on the shaft head of the reducer or a semi-circular groove on the shaft head of the reducer cover, the overflow oil will flow into both ends of the semi-circular groove and into the lower box.
5. Usage: Operators should learn how to use planetary reducers reasonably. Once encountering problems, they should learn to record and identify the cause, and resolutely implement the method.
